I'm a Mac user. Why did I get the pop-up "Unable to turn on the microphone"?
On rare occasions, Sococo cannot acquire data from Chrome for the microphone on MacOSX. When this happens, a user might experience other people telling her they cannot hear her, even though her mic appears to be set ON in Sococo. The fix is typically restarting the browser.
To minimize frustration in situations like this, Sococo now detects when no audio bytes are being sent and proactively displays a pop-up message advising the user to restart the browser. The pop-up message looks like this:
