Overview
You may encounter the following error after uploading a video file, and it is being encoded:
There was an error with your video clip
This article details possible causes for this error.
Information
The most likely reason for this error is that your video clip failed the encoding process. Encoding is the process when our system prepares your video for playback on the web.
Our industry-leading encoding provider, Encoding.com, handles about 95% of the different types of videos, but sometimes it can still fail due to one of the following reasons:
- The file you uploaded is not a video. Make sure it was not an image or another non-video format.
- The specific codec you are using is not supported by Encoding.com, or the file has a variable frame rate.
- There was an unexpected error somewhere in the process outside of encoding. If this is the case, please submit a ticket to our Support team.
