Overview
In some cases, a Sococo user forgets to turn off their device or log off from the platform when they are really inactive from the other end. This usually happens if the user is out of the office or on vacation and accidentally leaves their system turned on while in one of Sococo's spaces or team rooms.
A Sococo Space Moderator or Administrator can force users to go offline if they forgot to sign off before leaving for vacations. Their avatar will be removed from the space map. This changes the status of the users from online to offline or to keep it simple, kick a Sococo user out of the space.
This article demonstrates the steps on how an administrator can force-offline a user who forgot to log off from a Sococo virtual space.
Requirements
- You need to be either a Moderator or Administrator of the Sococo space.
- Modification of administrator settings must be done either from the Sococo desktop client or Sococo web app.
- Sococo web app is best launched from the latest version of Google Chrome browser. Other browsers may not have the same interface and features of the app.
Process
- Find the user from the Contacts panel.
- Right-click on the user's avatar.
- Select the Force offline option.
- You can do the same from the Sococo map by right-clicking on the avatar and selecting Force offline.
- You can do the same from the Sococo map by right-clicking on the avatar and selecting Force offline.
Confirmation
Changes take effect immediately after the administrator or moderator clicks Force offline.
After kicking the user out of the Sococo space, the status of the user will be switched to offline. Then, they will be logged out of the application, hence they will no longer be visible on the map. Check the Sococo space and the most recent team room the user was seen active to validate if they are successfully forced offline.
