Sococo application has a built-in chat feature that allows users to communicate with each other, even when they are in different rooms or spaces. This feature is available in all versions of the application and is extended with Slack chat integration, in case Slack is enabled.
The chat feature is positioned at the bottom-right part of your app, and you can only select and launch one chat window at a time. It can be one of the following:
a private chat - a chat conversation between you and one other person
a room chat - a chat thread viewable by all members currently present in the same room
a Slack room/channel chat - if your Sococo is integrated with Slack
A private chat is between you and one other person. It can be both Sococo built-in chat, or Slack private chat, in case Slack is integrated with space, and both users have Slack enabled. You can start a private chat in many ways.
Also, you can select if you want to use Sococo chat or Slack integrated chat. The history is different between the two.
Room chat is a Sococo built-in chat feature where all users in the room can chat together. You can start the room chat by clicking on the Chat in <room> feature in the People pane. All users in the room will receive the message.
Slack room/channel chat
From Sococo you can easily chat with others in Slack rooms/channel.
You can review the Slack Integration guide for further details on Slack integration.
Notepad is a built-in feature Sococo has that allows you to leave notes for yourself. Those are stored locally on the device. You can access your Notepad by clicking on your avatar.
Sococo chat history
Chat history is stored locally on your computer and is specific to the client you are using. What this means is that if you sometimes log in to Sococo through your Chrome browser and sometimes through the desktop client, your chat history does not carry over between the two.
To review steps on how to change the chat history settings, see how to Manage Chat History.
