Overview
Sococo can have issues where a user who is able to participate in a Sococo meeting is not displayed in the room. This issue allowed users to see other users' video feeds, hear the audio in the room, and enable their own audio and video even though their avatar was not displayed. Media connections not being terminated properly is a known issue present in version 6.21.4, which has been fixed with the Sococo 6.22.2 release. This article provides information on how to fix this issue if you are still experiencing it in the Sococo desktop app.
Solution
Previously, there were times where media connections were not terminated correctly when a user left a room, closed the web app, or quit the desktop app. As a result, the user was able to participate in a meeting without being displayed in the room. To resolve this issue follow the steps below.
Step 1. Verify the Sococo App version.
As previously mentioned, this is a known issue in Sococo 6.21.4 that was fixed in the most recent release. While running the Sococo app in Chrome will guarantee you are using the latest fixes and improvements, if you use the Sococo desktop app, it is possible you are not using the latest version of Sococo. Check the Sococo desktop app version to verify if this is the case.
Step 2. Update the Sococo desktop app.
If you are not using the latest version, manually update the desktop app to get the latest fixes.
Testing
After updating your desktop app to the latest version, all users participating in a meeting should be displayed in the room where the meeting is taking place. If you are still experiencing the issue, please follow up on a support ticket explaining your issue in detail and all the steps you tried so far.
